Hi, I’m Jeremy.
I grew up in Mountainhome, a small town in Pennsylvania tucked between resorts and gameland waterfalls. From a young age, I was introduced to the outdoors and skiing through the influence of my Grandmother and a curiosity for science through my uncle. These activities and interests slowly became passions and eventually a large piece of my identity. Half way through my chemical engineering degree, I took a gap year to build skills beyond what can be learned in a classroom. I actively sought out diverse experiences as a camp counselor, archery instructor, ski instructor, high ropes guide, and teambuilding facilitator. My time as a ski instructor was profoundly impactful. My skills as a skier had plateaued, surrounded by people who didn’t push me to progress. As a ski instructor, I fell in love with both the catalyzed progression in my personal skills as well as sharing in the successes as I guide a beginner on their journey to achieve their goals and push beyond what they thought was possible. The following year I enrolled in a university a little closer to the ski resorts as a chemistry education program to pursue my life’s path in teaching.
After graduation, I began teaching in Passaic, New Jersey at a public preparatory academy. My administrators and colleagues supported my personal growth, bringing my pedagogy to new heights, and my students were truly inspiring. I greatly valued my time in New Jersey just as I value both of my undergraduate college experiences and my gap year. I recognize that I am most authentically happy in nature surrounded by mountains, and I believe Vermont has the potential to be my place in the world. I consider myself to be an exceptional teacher, because I don’t settle for less than my best, and three years into my career, I recognize that I’m just getting started pushing the limits of my potential. Whether you have come to my page for chemistry help, ski coaching, an introduction to whitewater kayaking, or just to gain or share some new perspective, know that I take my role very seriously to provide the best support I can.
